The Potential Impacts of the Biosafety Protocol on Agricultural Commodity Trade

The African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) in collaboration with the International Food and Agricultural Trade Policy Council (IPCs) cordially invites you to a seminar on the Economic implications of implementing the Biosafety Protocol. M. Ann Tutwiler, the Chief Executive of the International Food and Agricultural Trade Policy Council will present the councilís recent analysis of the costs of various proposals for implementing the Biosafety Protocol. The presentation will demonstrate the importance of understanding the economic impacts of implementing the Protocol before key decisions are made at the Second Meeting of the Parties in June 2005. In addition, presentation(s) will be made on the progress realized in implementing the Biosafety Protocol in Kenya.
