The IPC will be holding a public seminar on March 15, 2005 at 19:00 in Montreal entitled, Implementation Issues Surrounding the Biosafety Protocol.  The seminar will be held prior to the meeting of the Technical Experts Group of the Biosafety Protocol, March 16-18.  The agenda will include presentations by experts on the Biosafety Protocol from organizations including:

• The IPC, which will present its study, "The Potential Impacts of the Biosafety Protocol on Agricultural Commodity Trade," by Dr. N. Kalaitzandonakes
  

• The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which will present a study on the costs of implementing the Biosafety Protocol in Argentina
  

• The International Grain Trade Coalition, which will present its analysis of commercial grain trade implications of the Biosafety Protocol.
