IPC brought experts in agricultural trade and development from IPC and other organizations together with stakeholders from across the spectrum of African agriculture — government officials, farm leaders, and agribusiness representatives, among others in Johannesburg, South Africa. This seminar was the first in the IPC's Capacity Building program and addressed the expectations and responsibilities of national governments, international organizations, and the farming and business communities to help African agriculture grasp the development opportunities offered by more open agricultural trade.
