In mid-November, European leaders reached an agreement to further reform the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) through the measures laid out in the Health Check. At the IPC and GMF breakfast discussion Tassos Haniotis, Head of Unit, Agricultural Policy Analysis and Perspectives, Directorate General for Agriculture, European Commission and Ariel Brunner, EU Agricultural Officer, BirdLife International, highlighted the major policy questions addressed through the Health Check and examined how these recent discussions may provide a preview of the larger CAP debate that will take place after 2013.
